One may not know the complete history and policies that govern a city, but the least one can do is find out as much as they can before they visit an area. Cambodians have had it up to their sleeve with Americans who constantly disregards the many signs posted all over the city about the dress code when visiting the Angkor Wat Temples. An Odyssey author has voiced their displeasure over the way American tourists disregard the culture of a country and their sacred places. They note the Angkor Wat Temples are sacred and are often filled with monks praying and meditating, and as a sign of respect, women ought to cover their knees and shoulders before entry. However, American tourists believe they are bigger than that and generally wear skimpy clothing. That, for sure, is a big sign of disrespect.
