While on a flight heading home to the U.S. one fateful day, a man asked an officer to get out of the seat she was sitting in. She didn’t understand what was going on until she got a note explaining everything and brought some level of peace to her anxious thoughts.

She thought to herself how long the flight would be in such a situation as she searched for her seat, still being a little tense. She was clueless, but the moment he made clear his reason, she knew she had to do something about it.

But what other options are there when it is the safest option to take you from one destination to another in a short time. Of course, that was what she wanted, but the day had other plans for her that she didn’t have a clue about.

During the process of looking for her seat, it turned out someone was talking to an air hostess about her, but all this was unknown to Jessica. She made her way through the packed hallway dragging her bag along with her until she managed to reach the row that indicated number 31. She took off her bag, packed it away in the overhead compartment, and took her seat, waiting for the flight to head off. However, the wait time moved from 10 minutes to 15 minutes, then to 20 minutes. It was evident the flight was having some delays, and it was becoming unbearable.

Jessica somehow had a bad feeling about the whole experience but, at the same time, was trying her best to get as comfortable as it possibly could in the tight space. But, when you have to go through such discomfort for an additional 20 minutes, it only spells bad news and more frustration on what you already had. Interestingly, it turned out Jessica might have been the reason for the delay without her knowing anything. So, what could be the real reason for the extended delay?

Jessica had a gut feeling that something was going on with the flight, just that she couldn’t place her finger on what was going on. It is understandable that flights can be delayed due to bad weather or other technical issues but today, everything seemed to be intact, so for the flight to be delayed so long was a cause for concern. Jessica was looking around for a flight attendant that she could ask a few questions about what was going on, but there was none close by. His posture in walking spells everything confidence, and because she had seen this move so often, she couldn’t help with that thought. But, with all the training she had received, none prepared her for what was about to happen.

She was clear on the fact that he addressed her but being her mind was so far, she was still not “back to reality” of what was going on before her. The man edged closer to Jessica and made a motion at her seat, and without even giving a break, he indicated to her that the seat was already taken. Jessica was drawn back by what the man said to her, and with eyes wide open, she turned to look at him in a confused yet serious manner. How could he even dare to say that to her? Jessica recalled the man again telling her she was in his seat, but Jessica was once again oblivious to all that. The question that ticked Jessica off was when he asked her what her ticket said.

He admitted she was working really hard, and he wanted to show his little reward for her continued efforts. This caused Jessica to feel a bit uneasy with the fact that seeing she was uncomfortable in the little cramped space back in the economy, the man must have felt worse. The whole thought had Jessica thinking hard and long about what she could do to make his day feel better. Then, the most perfect and efficient idea came to Jessica, and she knew she had to make it a reality.

The idea Jessica had in her head would need the help of a flight attendant, so she called for one and asked them about it. However, as it turned out, that idea was not possible as the attendant noted they couldn’t take anything from first class to economy. This pushed Jessica further into a sad state as she would have to come up with another idea and hope it would work out this time around. Then, another idea struck, and this time she hoped it would work.

Without a doubt, Jessica could tell the man must have been really uncomfortable in the seat he was now in, especially after knowing the seat he paid for was spacious and super comfortable. Jessica knew as well if she offered to give him back his seat, he would refuse, so that was off the table. Right there and then, she took a piece of paper and wrote a note on it, and attached a $20 bill to it. Jessica called one of the air hostesses and asked her to deliver it to the man for her.

The stewardess delivered the note to the man, and as he opened the paper, his eyes widened as he wondered what was going on. Jessica wrote in the note: “If everyone treated people the way you treated the servicewoman, the world would be a better place.” she then indicated that the $20 was her way of saying thanks and asked him to get some drinks and snacks on her…it came from her heart! But, as we would think, the man refused the offer Jessica made.

After reading the note Jessica sent him along with the $20 bill, he refused and later sent back a note to her. When she opened the note, her face lit up with a smile. Apparently, the man had declined her offer and instead asked for them to meet up once the flight landed. He also asked if she could have dinner with him – bill’s on him. In her mind, Jessica wondered if this was a date, and like many women in her situation, there were butterflies all over her stomach. With a warm heart, she sent back a response to his second proposal.

After thinking about it briefly, Jessica accepted his offer, and from the moment he made the first offer to her – his seat – her heart warmed up to him. After the flight, they met up at a restaurant and, if you are wondering…Jessica forgot all about her weariness and hurt from the training. Not to say it wasn’t there nonetheless but let’s look at it this way…excitement has a way of changing everything. Jessica had no idea that was going to happen when she booked her flight and initially boarded. It’s almost like a fairytale story coming to life on a plane!
